Services

‘Functional medicine focusses on the root cause of a disease or condition using the biochemistry of the body.’

Rebecca Keane is a registered nutritional therapist (mBANT, mANP, rCNHC). In her clinic she works as a team with her clients discussing their health concerns, and what goals they want to achieve, making them practical and achievable.

Using the functional medicine and naturopathic framework her aim is to:

  • Find the root cause of an illness or condition, and address where the nutritional imbalances are.

  • Identify the connections between the different systems and pathways in the body

  • Restore optimum wellbeing, promoting health, rather than focussing on the absence of an illness.

  • Educate and support you on your personal health journey, using scientific research and literature to supporting her protocol

Rebecca offers private nutritional therapy sessions via her e-clinic on Zoom and in-person.

Prior to the consultation she suggests a 15 minute discovery call, where she is able to get a thorough understanding of your health concerns, goals and requirements. You will then be asked to fill out a Health Questionnaire, a 3 Day Food Diary, and a Terms of Engagement & Consent form.

The initial consultation will last around 60-70 minutes, where I take a thorough case history, looking at all your systems in the body using the functional medicine framework, and complete a dietary analysis.

What's included in my packages:

  • Health questionnaire + food diary analysis

  • Pre-consultation research

  • Personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan

  • Supplement recommendations and discount on the Natural Dispensary

  • Recipes and meal ideas

  • Shopping lists Informational handouts

  • GP referral letters for NHS tests if necessary I may recommend testing, which will be either through GP or a testing company.

  • Functional testing is an additional cost.

  • If any tests have been done, I can interpret them for you.

The follow-up appointments happen 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment or any previous follow-ups. They last for approximately 45 minutes. Here we will monitor your progress, and address any concerns you may have. If tests have been undergone they will be reviewed, and between us, we can develop new goals. You will then receive:

  • Updated plan and additional resources

  • Updated supplement recommendations

  • Recipes and meal ideas

  • Informational handouts

Functional Testing

For some clients it may be beneficial to carry out functional testing. These appropriate tests are recommended to investigate the root cause, and obtain a comprehensive understanding of your health condition. They also help to establish where the nutritional deficiencies and imbalances are. Rebecca uses well respected lab testing companies that give detailed and complex results, which Rebecca will interpret for you.

Some of the tests will involve a blood, urine, stool or hair sample, which can be conducted in your own home which are fairly straightforward to do. Then all you need to do is send the sample back to the laboratory. More details on testing can be discussed in your consultation.
